
Melissa was born and raised here, and raised her family here too. She knows these communities and understands residents are being squeezed by state policies. Melissa has fought to keep bureaucrats out of local decisions and protect the quality of life that makes this region special.

Many of you have seen my campaign signs around town that say “homegrown leadership” and wondered what that means. Growing up in both East Hampton and East Haddam has given me perspectives others simply don’t have.
Since 2018, I have watched firsthand the shift in our state house—from a nearly evenly divided chamber where compromise and common-sense guided decisions, to the current lopsided, left-leaning governance.
When she was state representative, Melissa was a fierce voice for our region. She fought tax hikes and offered solutions in every debate.
